Cautionly giving your friendship but not your approval yet. Let him know why, just what you said, you think she isn't ready for anyone at this pt. Tell him that if he does care for her, he should allow her this space. It depends, has he been over before? Has he met your parents? If no, too soon. I think it's normal to have them over for dinner within two months of dating, but holidays I think it should be longer, given they've been around your family for a while. If you are super serious after two months of dating, go for it!
If you still only see each other occasionally, you still haven't met one another's friends, etc, it would probably be too early. Talk to one another about it and see what each of you think. I met my boyfriend on Zoosk. We have been together for a year. He met my mom after about 3 weeks, then he met my dad after a month and a half because he wanted me to start staying the night. He came to Thanksgiving dinner at my Dad's and at my Mom's as well. I definitely don't think it is too soon.
Boys have mixed views on this because this is how it goes for you: Boy dating- parents are not going to be as on top of who it is and they generally aren't overly interested or concerned. However, if I girls parents want to meet you early, you may get weirded out and think it's too soon to be serious. Our parents are going to be more protective and more interested and want to know the face of the boy they are going to have to kill if we get pregnant or heartbroken.
YOU a boy may not see yourself this way, but your the treat when you first meet a girls family. If she met him in person, I'd understand that it wouldn't be a problem but meeting online?!
Do you think GAG should combine these topics?
I think I made my point with that short explanation. OMG, everyone is different. He is obviously important to her and wants to share him with her family. Two months is plenty of time; I've had men introduce me to their parents and extended family after two dates - - THAT is awkward! I think it depends on the relationship. If this is a guy she really likes and is getting serious about, then I don't think it's too soon.

I can see why you might think this way though. It's one thing to just have the guy over for dinner on a random night. But to have him over for Easter dinner, yes it's big. Usually, at least in my experience, a dinner like this would involve more than just your immediate family. So I guess she wants to introduce him to other people in your family too.

I agree with you, it might be a bad idea because this guy probably is still thinking the relationship is in the trial period. I wouldn't even think to invite a guy over to dinner unless I knew he was serious about me. My boyfriend brought me over to his home to meet his family 2 months after we started dating.
It wasn't any special occasion. We hung out together and he just brought me home. We had known each other for just a month or two before we got together but we met at uni, so it makes it more "legitimate" to me than introducing someone you met online to your family.
I introduced my boyfriend to my family probably 4 months into our relationship. It took longer because I don't live with my family, so we kinda had to make the occasion happen. I am very strict on this rule and don't falter on this for anyone. Two months is a bit too soon in my book. They still have not gotten to know each other very well.
Its best to take time getting to know each other and really getting comfortable with the relationship before introducing them to family.

I feel that before my boyfriend would meet my family I have to know for certain we are serious about each other. With one of my exes, I met his family after one month and it was fine. If you are comfortable with your family I don't think it's a problem to have the person you are dating meet them.
It depends on how well the relationship has been going. I don't see a problem with it. And personally I think the sooner the better! Nah, I don't think so. It's just dinner with the family. If there serious then it would be a nice time for him and your family to really get to know each other. I don't think it's too soon.. The family always wants to meet who their daughter is dating, so I think it's a good time.
Is it too soon to have dinner with family after only 2 months of dating?
If she likes him and wants him to be around the family then he is doing something right in their relationship. When he comes over try to avoid hostal words and actions if you are uncomfortable with him being in the family home. Try to see what she sees in him; not just imperfections. I'm not convinced an online relationhsip from a free dating site is really going to last , plus its Saturday night and I have other plans , my parents want me to go but I honestly don't care much for the whole thing. If he made her happy after her relationship ended after several years isn't that a good thing?
It really doesn't matter if he is a rebound or not. If her previous relationship was a flop, I'm pretty sure she will focus on her current one instead. Not at all, me and my girlfriend have been dating for 2 months and we've met each others families already and Iw as at her house for Passover yesterday. Meeting the family is just a part of the relationship. I do not think it is too soon at all unless they have only been dating online and have not met each other.
I don't You said they have been dating for two months. How long should he wait to have a meal with your family? I think parents are nervous about whole relationship as its gone very fast and they got very serious very soon. How is him living in the same town a problem? I have a feeling you very much dislike your sister either having a relationship or you very very much dislike the guy.
Would you rather your sis have aunrealistic long distance relationship so she could never see the guy? Are you maybe jealous of her having a relationship? Can you tell me how long they are supposed to wait before having a meal at your parents? Is two years about right? And his age should be a plus as he may be more established and knows how to treat a lady. Try giving him a chance. Two months is not too soon. If I had to wait 2 months to meet a girl's family then I would believe the relationship really wasn't heading anywhere What if your mates tell embarrassing stories and your date has a change of heart?
It will be ok! Introducing your date to your friends is a big step and can be a daunting experience.

However, it is a positive step to take, helping to move your relationship forward. Friends are a big part of your life, they share your interests and do similar activities as you and so they are therefore a good reflection of yourself. Whilst with your friends, it is also likely that you will relax more and be more open, so your new girlfriend or boyfriend will get to see the real you, helping them to get to know you much better. Timing is really important.
However, every situation is different and unfortunately there is no set rule to say that you should wait a month, 2 months or until a set number of dates have passed before introducing your girlfriend or boyfriend to your mates. Many people wait until they know that they are in a committed relationship which is going somewhere.
Your friends can be some of your harshest critics and so make sure you give your relationship a chance first, before introducing them to your panel of judges. It is also likely that you have talked with your date about your friends and with your friends about your date. Make sure you are both comfortable with any decision that is made. Is it because your date and your friends are both very important to you? You share everything with your friends and want them to share this development in your life?
Whatever the reason, considering this question should help you come to a decision on when the best time is for your date and your friends to be introduced. If your reason is to get feedback from your friends, to show your date off, or to seek approval, you may not be ready to move to the next step quite yet.
Instead, arrange an environment where your date will be comfortable.
